We are glad to share the Economic Policy Paper developed as part of the USAID-funded RED-NEO program “Women Leading Rural Entrepreneurship in Armenia” component.

This document highlights the broad gender issues existing at the macro level within the Agricultural sector. It focuses on addressing gender disparities, limitations, and potential avenues for advancement. The paper conducted an assessment of the economic gender gap at the national level, examining how various factors such as laws, cultural norms, gender roles, access to financial resources, and decision-making abilities impact women’s involvement in economic activities, empowerment, and entrepreneurial endeavors in agriculture. Drawing from these insights, the paper presents targeted recommendations for key stakeholders on how to design and implement gender-inclusive development projects aimed specifically at promoting entrepreneurial activities in the agricultural sector.

While numerous studies have been conducted over the past decade concerning gender inequality in Armenia, including investigations into female entrepreneurship and the gender wage gap, there remains a gap in detailed research specifically focused on the challenges encountered by female agripreneurs.
