American celebrity Chef Amanda Freitag recently completed a weeklong culinary diplomacy tour in Armenia.
During her visit, Ms. Freitag engaged with local food producers and industry entrepreneurs collaborating with USAID. She conducted cooking demonstrations, master classes, and workshops centered around innovation, sustainable food chains, entrepreneurship, and women’s empowerment. It is worth noting that as part of the comprehensive program, the chef also made a special visit to the beneficiaries of the Rural Economic Development – New Economic Opportunities (RED-NEO) program, which is supported by USAID. She took the opportunity to explore Armenia’s rich heritage of wine production, enjoying fabulous Armenian wines. Additionally, Ms. Freitag familiarized herself with the potential of chocolate and dairy production in Armenia.
Departing with lasting impressions and cherished memories, the celebrity chef looks forward to the possibility of returning to Armenia in the future.
